Professional Experience
Prior to joining Whittaker Law, LLC, Max gained experience through clinical, governmental, and public-sector legal placements. During law school, he represented clients through the University of New Mexico School of Law Natural Resources and Environmental Law Clinic, where he handled property and environmental law matters under faculty supervision. His work included motions practice, discovery, depositions, expert witness preparation, and trial advocacy. He participated in a four-day New Mexico land grant property dispute trial and assisted with trial strategy, witness examinations, and presentation of expert testimony.
Max also served as a Legal Fellow with the New Mexico Department of Justice, assisting attorneys with consumer protection, regulatory, privacy, utilities, and antitrust matters through legal research, drafting, discovery, and hearing preparation.
Additionally, he worked as a Legal Intern with the Navajo Nation Department of Justice, conducting research involving tribal sovereignty, eminent domain, civil jurisdiction, environmental matters, and business entity laws.
